Screenwriting Mentorship Information

This mentorship offers professional feedback on original fiction screenplays.  Submitted scripts must be:

  • complete (but not necessarily final),
  • an original story (no adaptation)
  • correctly formatted,
  • no longer than 10 pages, and
  • no more than 2 scripts per person.

Your screenwriting mentor will review your script, and send you personalised notes on how to improve your work based on their expertise as a screenwriter, script editor, and instructor. You will  also get a follow-up phone call to discuss any issue directly with him.

The program will be run by Philip Tarl Denson, an award-winning screenwriter and script editor living in Darwin.

Phil's 2016 INSITE finalist script BORDERLINE is currently in pre-production with a production company in the US, fully financed and shooting later this year. Philip has optioned several feature film screenplays both in Australia and in the US and is part of the AWG Pathways program for emerging screenwriters. Philip currently has a number of feature film and television projects in development and has won several accolades for his scripts. Philip is represented by Elevate Entertainment in the US.

Scripts must be sent via this form, in pdf format. Make sure your script is formatted to Industry standards!

Scripts must be submitted by midnight Monday 2 April, and you will receive your notes by 15 April. Your phone call must be scheduled between 15 April and 15 May.
