Cinema Studies 101: Sound in Film

This is an introduction to the key elements of sound design for film and television. How the sound elements of dialogue, music, effects, foley and atmos work individually and together in a unified soundscape will be explored. An appreciation for sound as a powerful storytelling device will be gained here.

Greg Docwra is a Screen Media Lecturer at Charles Darwin University. He has over 15 years experience working on national and international film and television productions and has received an Australian Film Industry Award for best sound. He is judging for the 2017 Australian Academy of Cinema Television Arts (AACTA) awards.
