Single Shot Cinema – an award-winning approach to camera movement.

23rd
1.30pm Sat

Presented by Dr Aurora Scheelings (Film-maker, Media Lecturer at CDU).

Learn a distinctive approach to filmmaking where a scene is filmed in a single shot. Using lightweight cameras, you’ll create fluid dynamic shots that prioritise intuition and freedom of camera movement. You’ll learn how to film beyond physical barriers and how camera movement itself becomes the means for cinematic expression.

Dr. Aurora Scheelings is Screen Media Coordinator/Lecturer at Charles Darwin University. She’s a documentary filmmaker with international and national broadcast credits (SBS, ABC, RTE, Al Jazeera, UK History Channel, Sky Arts) and has assisted Leonard Retel-Helmrich in the teaching of his “Single Shot Cinema” style to New York University students.
