Three decades ago, Carlos and Margarita were the most famous tango couple in the world. Having since retired, Carlos now leads a quiet life in Madrid, enjoying life away from the stardom and stages with his Spanish wife. Margarita, meanwhile, remains in Buenos Aires. Carlos receives a call from the tango couple’s former manager Pichuquito telling Carlos he must return to Argentina for a memorial service for Margarita, who has recently passed away. Shocked and saddened, he reluctantly boards a plane to honour his deceased friend and dance partner. Upon arrival, though, Carlos gets some truly surprising, life-altering news that will soon send him on a road trip into the wilds of rural Argentina. What awaits him there will change everything.
