The Darwin Film Society and Screen Territory are thrilled to announce the four successful projects for their joint film initiative: Spark! Find out about the projects here!

Four original NT fictional short film projects have been selected to go into production with $10,000 seed fund each

The region’s backdrop is once again an inspiration for sci-fi stories by local emerging filmmakers.

The productions will première at the 10th Darwin International Film festival

For the first time Spark was open to the entire Northern Territory for submissions, and we’re thrilled to count Alice Springs-based film-maker Biddy O’Loughlin amongst this year’s vintage of exciting original projects!

The only way to recover the light is to steal it back.

The world has been abandoned by the sun. In order to rediscover the light, a meditation class searches for a spark within themselves. But when an enigmatic cult leader takes meditation students for his own mysterious mission to find the light, West decides to investigate.

Following the evacuation of Darwin, a traveller along a lonely highway has a mysterious accident, finding himself lured into a settlement of northerners who have chosen to remain, it is unclear if they are friend or foe.
