The Darwin International Film Festival is proud to present the Spark Film Inititiative 2022, a seed fund for local emerging filmmakers. In 2022 four teams will each receive $10,000 from the fund to complete a short film that will go on premiere at the Darwin International Film Festival in September.

Since 2017, the initiative has supported the production of 13 original short films which have premiered at DIFF, quickly becoming one of the festival’s most anticipated events. In 2022 Spark is going back to its roots, returning to fiction.

Darwin International Film Festival is proudly supported by the Northern Territory Government, Screen Territory, The NT Major Events Company and Screen Australia.
