With the help of Asmae’s father to construct the scene, and Asmae’s mother supporting with textiles, the finely detailed miniatures, and juxtapositions of scale, create a place where memories can roam and long-held secrets can be revealed. As all those around her confront the trauma of the past, Asmae’s fearsome grandmother is dismissive of the process and stubbornly determined to leave history undisturbed.
